Towards the end of the 19th century, increasing technically advanced printing technology made it possible to make patterns of different textile materials and pattern types on wallpaper. This wallpaper, from Beta gård in Åtvid, Östergötland imitates a fabric using tapestry technique with naturalistic stylised foliage and is a good example of this type of pattern, which was introduced to Sweden in the latter half of the 19th century but remained popular until well into the 20th century.
